Summer Academy We've great news for all beginners, newbies, learners and struggling LiveCoders. This summer for the first time we are running the LiveCode Summer Academy. Starting in early May, and running for seven weeks, this free-to-join course aims to walk you through the basics of using LiveCode. Start from zero, and finish with a completed App, ready to submit to the iOS or Android App store! Learn about creating applications on the desktop at the same time, from the same code base.
There will be forums, webinars, downloadable materials and tutorials, and you'll have your own special tutor to work with you throughout the course. Who will be teaching Elanor Buchanon, Senior LiveCode Developer: As a senior developer with RunRev for 5 years Elanor has considerable experience with LiveCode and with programming in general. She has consulted on every aspect of the application development life cycle from requirements gathering and application design through to code architecting, implementation, refinement and delivering. She is driven by a desire to create simple but effective software solutions that meet the needs of real end users. Elanor is the beginners' course tutor at RunRevLive.11 in San Jose, CA. She is also friendly, helpful and patient - these characteristics make her the perfect choice of lead trainer for the LiveCode Summer Academy. Ben Beaumont has held positions in software development, business development and product management at RunRev for more than five years and is now LiveCode Product manager. Ben is passionate about pixel perfect user interfaces and perfecting application design. He combines his depth of knowledge with his experience at creating brilliant user experiences. More than anyone Ben will get you excited about your own app and show you how to make sure that others love it too. Kevin Miller is the founder and CEO of RunRev. He combines covering the entire lifecycle of app creation - from concept to completion - with over a decade's experience developing LiveCode, a simple yet powerful programming environment for everyone. Kevin has run training workshops covering all aspects of software development. He enjoys explaining programming concepts in simple language, and wrote the original User's Guide for the LiveCode platform. This background makes him a great candidate to be our guest speaker, making regular appearances throughout our Summer Academy. Who is it for?
