Historic Edinburgh on show for your spouses

RunRevLive 2012 was great.. for many reasons. The talks, the panels, the 1-2-1's, the Boat Trip.. but for me in such a different way – it was the year with the greatest number of spouses / partners / girlfriends / boyfriends in attendance, as we refer to them in the UK, *The WAG's*. (Wives & Girlfriends, sorry chaps it's a sports term and I am sure there are some BAH's somewhere, but it's just not so catchy!)

So this year we thought a bit more and realised how amazing Edinburgh is as a destination and that it is (more importantly) the home of RunRev and our very own playground, so wouldn't it be great to show you around and to show off our wondrous capital to its full advantage?

Now don't worry, everyone is going to experience something new in my ever thriving evening events.. but this time we wanted to extend the hand of hospitality in a sideways direction, to those that will be visiting our fair city, but not attending the conference itself.

So for the 'Other Half' we have arranged 2 days of entertainment for you, two slightly quirky, but wonderfully indulgent excursions, at a fabulous price.

Day 1:
A Walking Tour of Old Edinburgh followed by Lunch at our 'RunRev Restaurant', Wedgwood.

"The underground vaults and passageways of Edinburgh are vast - Filled with stories, tales & struggles of woe as well as some hidden and long forgotten histories architecture, this hour and a half long tour guides you through the underground maze, sharing more than a few of it's secrets."

On the practical side, this isn't a 5 mile hike up and down Edinburgh's steep hills, this is an historical look at 'old Edinburgh' now hidden beneath the depths of The Royal Mile. Even I have done the tour in my heels, although this is not highly recommended! Whilst it isn't a huge amount of walking, there are places it can be a little steeper in places and it will be the original ground and flooring, so we do suggest flat (!?!) comfortable footwear.

What better way to relax after our historic learnings, than with a fabulous 2 course meal + coffee & a glass of wine / soft drink at Wedgwood The Restaurant, located just down the road at The Canongate? Nothing I hear you cry! Fabulous, as this is our unofficial RunRev Restaurant.. the best in local produce with the customer service on par with an exclusive award winning eatery.

A visit to The Royal Yacht Britannia followed by Lunch at Purslane Restaurant.

Residing at Edinburgh's beautiful Shore area, the Royal Yacht Britannia is a fabulous piece of British History and a beautiful one at that. The calming water and gentle audio guide will show us / you through the heritage of the ship, surrounding us in some of her most intimate stories.

Which was your favourite room? Discuss over a wonderful 3 Course Lunch & glass of wine at Purlsane restaurant in the historic New Town of Edinburgh. Purslane boasts 'Casual Fine Dining'. In that "The atmosphere is casual, we provide the fine dining." The head chef & owner is a personal friend of mine, so believe me, this is one lunch you do not wish to miss out on!

I have purposely only offered 2 days included activities as I don't want to weigh you down with an itinerary for whole 4 days. I appreciate there maybe things you would like to do or places to see on your own, I am as ever here to help facilitate this, and make it happen wherever possible.
