Customer Feedback: a Critical Success Factor

by Kevin Miller

As many of you can personally attest to, developing a software program cannot be done in isolation. While there are many sources of inspiration, the users of a program are key to understanding what is most important.

Runtime has a very active closed beta program which is open to our Enterprise users. From this group of "power users" we have gained tremendous insights into how to improve our products. In addition, each week I personally attend an online live chat with our RevSelect developers in which we explore how to improve our core technology so that their products can integrate and extend the built in features.

This year we have decided to add an opportunity for any of our users to sit down in person with our development team and review some new features to be introduced in upcoming versions of Runtime. The process of testing these features will not only give insights to our design team but will allow our customers to share in the development process and understand how our engineers approach their work.

The first opportunity we will have to explore the new features together will be at the upcoming Malta conference in November. We will have a session devoted to showing some exciting new features that have not yet been demonstrated even to our closed beta group. Naturally this session will require a signed Non Disclosure Agreement due to the sensitivity of the material we will share.

If you have not already signed up for the conference, there is still time. I look forward to not only sharing with you during the focus group meeting but there will be many opportunities to sit down together over a drink and discuss any issues about our products which you might have. If you can't make it, there will be other opportunities in the future! In the mean time, please do email support@runrev.com with any feedback you may have.
