Glasgow School of Art
We were delighted to be invited by the Glasgow School of Art's Digital Cultures Department to join and participate in their app building workshop at the Apple Store in Glasgow.

Kevin speaking at Glasgow School of Art

The world famous Glasgow School of Art is a pioneering institution in the arts world and this is clearly demonstrated in their new Digital Cultures Degree Course.
This course recognises and addresses the 'exciting changes rippling through art, design and architecture; changes driven by fresh ways of thinking allowed by advancing technology. The Digital Culture programme at The Glasgow School of Art embraces the creative possibilities opened up by digital technologies to reveal alternative approaches to design and artistic expression.

Part of the course work included a project to build an interactive mobile app from scratch and LiveCode was selected as their app building tool of choice. The app delivers a treasure hunt experience in the city and is called Secret Glasgow. It includes maps, video, music, GPS, QR codes and great graphic images.

Not only did the students create the idea and build the digital graphical assets using a variety of different tools, they had to present this as a work flow at a public workshop environment in the Apple Store. Each student took it in turns to show their part of the workflow which is no mean feat and everyone was impressed by the content of their presentation as well as their confidence and clear delivery; you could tell that they were having lots of fun, as did we all.

Press Coverage
LiveCode 6.0 has been widely covered in news articles by The Scotsman, MacTech, PCWorld, The H, Tidbits, TNW and more. Some of our favorite quotes:

"The spirit of HyperCard lives on with the release of LiveCode 6.0" Tidbits

"The combination of a drag-and-drop interface and easy-to-learn English-like language means that it should be easy for beginners to pick up, and ultimately faster to release an app. After all, who wants to spend all of their time neck-deep in code when you can be prototyping and showing off your creation to the world?" TNW

"News of LiveCode 6.0's launch comes just weeks after it emerged that one of the creators of the £2 billion Halo computer games franchise is using the software to create his latest title." The Scotsman

"If you've got a mobile, desktop, or server app idea for your small business, the new LiveCode 6.0 could be the tool you've been waiting for to help make it happen." PC World
