A LiveCode Xmas
It's the time of year to look back and wax poetical about everything that happened in 2011

by Mark Taoilinn

Twas the week before Xmas, and all through the house,
Developers were working with keyboard and mouse,
The cards and the stacks were all coded with care,
In hopes that app triumph soon they could declare.

At RunRev we've launched new releases all year,
And given developers much reason for cheer,
First Android, then Server and now LiveCode 5
Each kick starting your work into apps-overdrive.

We gave you an engine that's ten times as quick,
It zips round the world just as fast as St. Nick,
We've made sure that LiveCode is better than ever,
So that you can succeed in your every endeavour.10x Faster

To give you all this we have had to grow bigger,
Keeping up with the market with unceasing vigour
We took on gnomes Mark, Karthik, Arnaud and Steve,
And made them work harder than they could believe.

We couldn't have done all of this on our own,
Others have helped as we've blossomed and grown.
Our marketplace vendors deserve heaps of the credit,
There's a list underneath here, be sure that you've read it.

There's WorldLib! There's Data Grid! There's Zygo and rTree!
And MobGUI! and Charts! an Animated Party!
The list carries on but that's just a small tease,
And each single one makes your coding a breeze!

This year did we meet you? We've gone all around
To show off our LiveCode. To impress! To astound!
Did we meet you at AppsWorld, AnDevCon or RevLive?
We made an app in 3 minutes - that's what I call DevJive.

And so we come to something that makes us most proud, spaceship
A totally new way to stand out from the crowd,
Do you want to make apps but think it's just alchemy?
Well now you can learn in the LiveCode Academy!

And last but not least let's not forget you
And give you the thanks that you're certainly due
You've been there through it all, through the bits and the bytes,
So Happy Holidays to all, you've been a delight!

Happy Holidays

From everyone at RunRev

RunRev will be closed between 22nd December 2011 and 5th January 2012, to give all our hardworking gnomes a well earned rest. We look forward to seeing you again in the New Year.
