RevOnline 2: Bigger, Better, and More Accessible
Take a look at some of the top stacks available through revOnline

By Heather Nagey

As some of you have no doubt noticed by now, Rev 4.0 shipped at the same time as a substantial revamp of revOnline. You can now access it directly from your browser, login, upload and download users stacks, rate projects, search for particular topics and see which stacks are most downloaded and highly rated by other users.

It's a great resource, and if you haven't already explored it, I highly recommend it. Seeing what other developers have done with Rev can be a source of inspiration, and the generous sharing of code and examples means you can often find something here that will save you re-inventing the wheel.

Still holding the top spot for "most downloaded" is John Craig, with his Air Traffic Control game. Highest rated is the Data Grids Tour by Ben Beaumont, while this months staff pick is Side-Scrolling Game Test by Derek Bump. Here's what our staff has to say about it:

"While this example is not a complete game it brilliantly demonstrates the basics of game logic, physics and character control. It is always worth studying the way other people do something when it is done well. If you are interested in games development and/or animation I would recommend taking a look at this stack. If you fancy trying out this first release of the stack it is still a lot of fun just completing the level. Thanks Derek for a great submission to revOnline."

So why not jump right in and join us? Do you have a stack you would like to share? Maybe you can knock John off the top spot! You need a Rev license to sign up, then you can upload, download, rate and use freely this great online Rev resource.
