Buy Smart - FuturePay and Multibuy For Revolution
How to save yourself $$$'s over the next few years (plus a little sweetener for today).

by Heather Nagey

This week, I'd like to draw to your attention two ways of renewing your Revolution licensing that could potentially save you up to $1200.

1) FuturePay: the auto renewal option.

Some of the most observant of you may have noticed recently an unobtrusive icon in the RR store. It says, modestly, "auto renewal" and has a little checkbox and a questionmark beside it.

Auto Renewal checkbox What is this all about you may wonder? And some of the more curious of you may even have clicked on the little questionmark, producing this explanation:

"For your convenience and so that you do not run the risk of accidentally allowing your Revolution license to lapse thus incurring higher costs when renewing, we are now offering you an automatic renewal service. This will automatically charge your card and send you a license renewal for a further year, annually, until you cancel it or for a period of 5 years, whichever is sooner. After 5 years, you have the opportunity to review it and decide whether you want to sign up for it again."

Why would you want to do this, and how does it save you money? Its quite simple. Developers are often a lot more focussed on writing code than checking the expiry date of their license! We reward you for keeping your license current with a generous $100 discount on the full assurance pack* for Studio, and a whacking $200 off a full Enterprise assurance pack. So letting it slip even for one renewal could cost you $200 extra on your Enterprise license. Letting it slip 5 times in a row doesn't bear thinking about...that's $1000 you just flushed down the pan. If you sign up for the FuturePay option, we will simply renew your license and save you $200 every time we do it, for the next 5 years. You pay for each renewal as it falls due, so there is no lump sum required up front. You decide you don't want to renew in the meantime? No problem, just log in and cancel it. You are in control, but at the same time, you don't have to worry about remembering exactly when you last purchased your Revolution Assurance.

2.) Multibuy: the save $$$'s upfront option

Here's another little known fact about our store: if you buy more than two license updates in one go, you get a 20% discount. Try it. Enter "3" in the quantity box on the right of the product description for Studio:

3 copies of Studio

What you get with this purchase, is 3 years of updates for your Studio license, and you save $60. If you buy 5 years, you save $100. If you buy 5 years of Enterprise updates in advance, you could save yourself $200 (thats on top of the $1000 you save by keeping your license current). Not so bad! It gets better...

During March, buy a multipack of license updates, and we'll give you an additional 10% off. Thats a total of 30% saved on your renewals, plus peace of mind for years to come! To get your extra 10%, use the coupon code

MULTIBUYMARCH10

before 31st March 2009**.

To quote a phrase we use a lot here in customer support... I hope this helps!

*What is an Assurance Pack? Its just a way of keeping you up to date. We are continually working on new releases of Revolution, and so that you cutting edge developers can get your hands on them as soon as they appear, we give you the opportunity to buy a year's worth of updates at a time. Whenever we release, you can just download and install the latest version via the "check for updates" menu.

**You must buy at least 3 years of updates in one purchase to qualify. This coupon is not applicable to FuturePay purchases.
