RunRev Introduces Rev 4.0 Beta EDINBURGH, Scotland - November 2, 2009 - Runtime Revolution Ltd. has introduced Revolution 4.0 beta, the only development tool that allows users to create Web applications with the operating system native look-and-feel, and deploy across any computer in use today--on the Web, desktop or server, for the PC, Mac, or Linux. The new, free entry-level version, revMedia, lets people get started right away, creating Web applications, commercial software, academic coursework, professional tools, enterprise software and more. Inspired by Apple's HyperCard, Rev is based on the revTalk language, which uses plain-English words and phrases for most of its operations, eliminating the obscure symbols and complicated syntax required of other programming languages. The result is a development tool that is easy to learn and use, requires 90% less code, and can deliver a 10-fold increase in productivity over traditional languages. "Our Rev 4.0 pre-release is receiving tremendous feedback from customers, inspiring a fresh generation to join the Rev community and create apps for serious business and fun," said Kevin Miller, RunRev CEO. "We have an active and diverse group of people creating academic tools and coursework, software for commercial use, Facebook applications, games, and enterprise software solutions. It's an exciting time for our customers. They now have more flexibility to create the applications they want, and deploy across any platform." Rev 4.0 Launch Meetup RunRev will introduce the final Rev 4.0 software to developers at its first U.S. Meetup November 11, 2009, at Varnish Fine Art in San Francisco.
